WHERE DID THE DAY GO?

That’s what I would like to know. I do feel like a good portion went to retrieving Asher from dangerous and precarious situations. Now that I think of it, it’s been like that awhile, but he has been getting increasingly daring. Just the last three days I have seen him drop from a rock wall three or four feet high, all the land on his feet and be fine, swing by one arm down steps numerous times, fall from the barstools(crash landing head first), seat on the counter, run towards traffic, get stuck under a booster seat(wish I had a picture of this one), climb in a metal mail box and more, more, more. It is nothing to him to lunge face first onto a wrought iron chair. It is really amazing I have my hair or any part of my sanity. Funny thing is… I am having fun watching him play and grow. I could do without some of the stunts though, especially the ones involving the barstools. See, since he can get to those he seems to think, and it feels, as though he has the keys to the kingdom. He can climb on the counter, get into the boys food, throw things in the sink, collect things from the sink. OI VIE!

But the the sweet things he has done this week and the kisses. He has started given me lots of kisses without my prompting and oh are they sweet. He really is my little sidekick and helps wherever he can. He finds and abnormal about of joy in loading the dryer. We get a “yay” and each piece is placed in. He really loves to play games and has such a contagious laugh. Tonight as I was dressing Tate and Asher, Keegan still at cub scouts, I looked at Tate in his pajamas mismatched the way he loves them, pants too small, shirt to big, different patterns. Then I looked over at Asher practically outgrowing his, pudgy little thighs cute as can be. They hadn’t had enough to eat today (riiiiiiiiiiiiight) so they were having an apple. The looks on their faces were priceless. Asher was beaming as he shared bites with me. I’m not sure how it is possible to have such joy in this, but I couldn’t have been a more proud and blessed feeling momma.

Keegan came home showing off his new rope tying skills he had learned at Cub Scouts. Greg worked with him in his scout book on some other moral type “what would you do in the situation” kind of topics. I couldn’t be any happier he is apart of this group and learning so much. Before I knew much about Cub Scouts I thought it would be a good and positive thing. Now I see how much it has even helped us as parents to cover some topics on things we might not have and really give Keegan some quality time he needs and we don’t want to miss out on. Time is short with your kids you know. My youngest brother was Keegan’s age on 9/11. He is going to be eighteen this Summer. 9/11 seems like yesterday. In that amount of time Keegan will be grown. The pressures on. I better rock this. A wise friend once said and I may have quoted it on here before. “You will have time perhaps to do other things, but you only get one chance with your kids.”
