these small moments
Last night I had one of those moments with my son. One you wish you could bottle for one hundred years and still have it as clear and vivid in your heart and mind. I never want to forget his innocent as we sat on my bed the entire window full of a sunset, a beautiful sunset, the first sunset he had ever seen. To this day I have never had the opportunity to sit and do nothing but watch one with the other boys(but I plan to change that), so to watch one with a two-year-old and see him marvel was truly a gift. I don’t believe anyone older could have truly been in awe this way. The sun danced on his face. It was more than a sunset it was a full blown show. The sun went behind the clouds, came back, went behind, came back, as it slowly , slowly, set. His voice so soft and sweet, his mannerism simply innocent. At first he cried out ”mooooon ” but after he found out it was the sun there were oohs and awes for the moments before it set. Thank you Lord for these small moments, a reminder of your beauty in a world so often dark. The gift of a third son, and the gift of a light show from the comfort of our room.
