Friday was a long overdue date night. It hasn't been that long, but long enough, especially because our at home time consist of running on a hamster wheel to keep everyone fed and clothed, not to mention the work load just to keep things sanitary around here. Greg has been working his normal long hours and we are all exhausted from them. I feel like we fall asleep most nights mid-sentence and never have time for relaxing or fun.
Tonight was actually a makeup date for my birthday dinner that was cancelled a few weeks back when the kids got sick. We went to Bonefish- our original plan. I was feeling uninspired by it to be quite honest, but ran out of time to look around for something else. Maybe next time I can try a new place a friend told me about. Getting ready to go out is usually enough to make me pass out. I was running around until the last second and was practically sweating when the sitter arrived.
We did suceed by getting out the door and we had a good time. We had a reservation which was a joke, Because when we arrived we were given a buzzer and told we had a 15 minute wait since we HAD a reservation. Oh well, I guess at least it wasn't 45 minutes like everyone else was waiting. Pecan-crusted Rainbow Trout, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Coconut Shrimp, we were soooooooooo stuffed. We did some much needed catching up. Talking without interruptions. What a concept!
After that, there were no movies, and no parking spots(suprise) at the theater, so we headed over to the mall to see if those fancy massage people were there. My cousin, Stephanie introduced me to this whole thing.. I know it seems totally weird and I was skeptical at first about sitting in a chair in the middle if the mall. But it is so worth it. My massage was AWESOME and worth every penny. I could have done without the strange rubbing of my ears--awkward , oh and the way he keep messing with my ponytail! Oh and the comments! Anytime I have ever had a massage the masseuse says in a shocked tone, "You very tight". And that's what I got this time too. After the massage I asked if a lot of people feel "that tense" and he replied, "NOOOOOOOOOOO not a lot." Great, so I'm the only jacked up one out there -he he. I only wish he would have offered longer fooooooooooooor free. No such luck.
We were home by 930. I was tired at 630. I am old. I don't really enjoy getting sitters , the whole process is stressful for me. The calling, the planning, the leaving the boys, getting dressed in something other then rags or sweats, but really, It is worth it. I almost wanted to cancel at the last minute, but I didn't, and I think for the sake of our marriage the time, effort, and money was well spent.

"You so tight" ha ha! They say that to me too :) I understand the whole sweating just as the sitter arrives. It's ALWAYS that way here, too. So glad y'all went anyway. Gotta get to where you are going before you can take your first real breath! Can't wait to chat later. xo
yay so glad you got to go out to dinner, food sounds awesome! and that would be totally weird to hear "you're so tight". hahaha. I would love a massage though.
so my mom and i went to the mall and saw the guys doing massages and she was like "thats the best thing ever! lets do it!" i didn't do it because i didn't think i could relax knowing people could see me! but now i'll have to give it a go! :) AND every time i get a massage they say the same thing, your REALLY tight!
