The boys walked into the school gates like it was nothing on the first day of school. So handsome in their fresh, new uniforms. Tate wanted Keegan to walk him in, not me. Oh the woes of motherhood. He gave me a quick hug and entered his classroom. Keegan barely could wait for me to come so he could continue on to his class, and maybe didn’t want me to follow him, But I did anyway. He let me hug him too. Then he scurried over to his desk as quick as possible, I suppose to avoid anyone talking to him.
When I came to pick them up they both came running to the car full of excitement about the day. Keegan rated in a nine, Tate a ten. And Tate even conned his way out of taking a nap because of his good behavior(or so he says) That blue-eyed boy. It makes it hard to hear no in life when you get yes so often. The afternoons are full and bustling. Lunch boxes, backpacks, shoes, papers to sign, homework(already), agendas. I can just smell the freshly sharpened number twos and that brings on nostalgia that makes me crave autumn weather like nothing else.
Happy back to school everyone! Here’s to routine and full days.
I can’t wait to see what this year holds for my guys.
