Grow A Pair

I’m speaking of . Urm…. Uhhhhh… Curtains. See since we are a military family and we move A LOT. I have a storehouse full of curtains that rarely fit, one house to the next.  Many suggest to not even bother with window treatments if you move a lot because it’s a waste of money. But on most days, when I haven’t given up on making my house a home, I say, “no”. I refuse to put my life on hold for when we are “settled." This is my life, probably will be for awhile, and I’m going to live it. Curtains and all if I see fit :)

So I decided not to hang any in the boys room, at least not for a time.  Then I got bored. Their rooms look bright and airy and they have nice-er blinds. But, I kind of like to utilize what I have, so having these curtains sitting in the closet makes me a little crazy. I decided to hang them in Asher’s room. Not what I would have usually done. The color I call, outdated blue. They are like 1990’s IMO ;) In part because the are faded from the sun, in part because it is the classic little boy blue that I am so tired of looking at- ha! But for whatever reason with the turquoise walls I kind of liked them.  They were obviously TOO short.

Here’s a before-

What to do what to do? Modify , of course. I sewed some chocolate brown fabric on the bottom and voila. I love curtains with the color block at the bottom. So this is a win win for me.  I already had the fabric so the cost was $0

Here’s the after-

If your curtains are too short I encourage you to grow a pair too.
